Customer Praise!

July 19, 2010
We recently had a comment from a second time customer of Purgood!  Here are her thoughts:
“I don’t remember how I first heard about PurGood but I am happy that I did.  My grandson has eczema and this is perfect for him. I just placed my second order for the hair and body wash.  Keep up the great work!!”–Brenda

Thanks for your feedback!  It makes our day every time we hear about how PurGood has made a difference!

Don’t forget the…

June 28, 2010

This past month has been filled with so many summertime memories.  Our families are enjoying the summer weather and trying to get as much swimming in as possible.   But in the end, I’ve learned a hard lesson.   Never sacrifice what is working in skincare for your children even when you go on vacation!

The harsh chemicals in swimming pools quickly dry out little skin and for us causes a bad case of the “itchies” (that’s our term at our house)!  On a recent vacation, we found out the hard way, why sticking with what works is important.  For our family, a time away from our beloved Purgood caused a flare up in dermatitis.  I am kicking myself for forgetting to pack it but sometimes with the hustle and bustle of motherhood, I’m lucky that I remember to pack my own underwear for vacations! Being without it, I thought that just a few days without our routine stuff we’d be fine.  After all, the children are getting older so shouldn’t the “itches”  and “bumpies” be less of a worry?  Nope.  Not true for us. After what seems like a million white little patches and “bumpies” later, we  (I really should say I am) are kicking ourselves (myself) for causing unnecessary flair ups.

Enjoy your summer swimming and wash off the chemicals when you are done.  Lastly, if the skincare regimen is working in your household….don’t change it….or forget to pack it in your overnight bag!

Sensitive Skin Tip #2

May 3, 2010

Sometimes it may not be as obvious as to what is causing your irritated skin. Meaning that it seems that some days you have perfectly normal skin while others you are frustrated by EVERYTHING that seems to come into contact with it.  Try to be mindful of the products that are in or on your bathroom shelves.  Are all the products within the freshness date?  Expired products can have ingredients that overtime are ineffective and also cause irritations.  Could it be the newest greatest best smelling lotion that now has your skin itching?  Keep an eye out for duplicate ingredients on labels that seem to correlate with your skin outbreak triggers.  An outbreak may take anywhere between a few hours to days to actually become a nuisance.  The best outlook is to try to switch to products that are kind to your skin with ingredients you KNOW will not only serve their purpose of cleansing, healing and moistening but are also compatible with your skin type.

Sensitive Skin Fact #1

April 15, 2010

Did you know that people with sensitive skin have a lower tolerance level to certain products or environmental conditions than others?

Though there are different levels of skin sensitivity, some people can react to a product severely, while others may have no reaction at all.  Those with sensitive skin may react quickly to chemicals, heat or wind by developing red, blotchy and irritated skin.  Some people are fine at first, but then because of various factors, develop an allergic reaction.  This is not only uncomfortable but it can also be incredibly embarrassing too.  Certain foods in our diet can also cause skin irritations.  Keep that in mind if you feel like you are at the end of your rope and nothing is working!

Pay It Forward

April 9, 2010

Today while bending to my cravings of caffeine and pastries, I experienced a selfless gesture that acted as a catalyst to the rest of my day.  While waiting in line at Starbucks, someone in the car ahead of me, paid for my order.  WOW!

What a wonderful way to make someone else stop and appreciate the simplest and yet under appreciated thing in life:  kindness.  A complete stranger felt compelled to brighten my day without even accepting a “thank you” from me.  They drove off ahead of me and didn’t know that this caffeine fix was due to my runninglategottagetthekidsgoing kind of day.

Feeling absolutely inspired about the event, I decided to pay for the order behind me.   I cannot say the event spiraled into a coffee giving event that the 6 o’clock news reported on, but what this did for the rest of my day was simply amazing.  I found myself smiling more at strangers and holding more doors open for those several feet behind me.  I beamed ear to ear on the outside while my insides were elated with joy.  This one small act the unknown stranger gave me, made me want to repeat it over and over in other ways to give others the same feeling that I had.

So, can you pay it forward and cause a chain reaction of goodness?  Tomorrow could be an awesome day for someone else too just by doing something unexpectantly good.

People are talkin’

March 1, 2010

How long does it take for New Year’s Resolutions to wear off?  For me, it’s been the opposite.  It has been me starting it.  I have decided to try something completely different this year and hold off for a few weeks and maybe months. Then wait until the new bathing suit catalogs and spring/summer clothing comes out and THEN decide that I have to work my tail off to get into the shape I always swear I’m going to be in.

WRONG!  I really didn’t plan on waiting to get started, we’ve just been crazy busy with life and Purgood.  That’s fine with us though, because Purgood is sure gaining speed.  We are very proud to have press links now on our website.  Yeah, Purgood!  So, if you wanna talk about us and want us to link it to the Purgood site, we would be very flattered, excited, and honored to do so.
